Superintendent's Message

Education serves as the foundation for a democratic society. An important goal of our school is to help children develop the qualities of self-discipline, responsibility, and respect for others. Our school believes that students have the right to learn and teachers have the right to teach. For this to be accomplished, an effective learning atmosphere must be created. This happens when parents, students, and school staff work together cooperatively.

Pond School is a great place for children to attend school. It is our philosophy that students who feel good about themselves, and have opportunities to receive recognition, tend to perform better academically and socially. The environment is supportive, wholesome, and free from drugs, alcohol or gang problems.

There are Monthly Reward Days, as well as Awards Assemblies. Students receive awards for their artistic creativeness, citizenship, and academic scholarship. In addition we have spirit week, color days, and a yearly calendar of special activities and events. Pond parents support the school by attending parent conferences and school activities, volunteering as classroom helpers, supervising field trips etc.

As you read through the Web Pages, I believe you will find that what emerges is a picture of a school that is doing well in most areas, and is an exciting place where learning takes place.
